University of Alberta

Community Wellness

Community Wellness is new to campus this year as an initiative of University Wellness Services. This service is provided at no cost to the student.
  • We are mobile and focused on supporting students’ ability to cope positively with life changes and challenges.
  • We work one to one with students.
  • We are available as a resource to both students and staff.
  • Our service is confidential.

Community Helpers Program

The Community Helpers Program (funded through Alberta Health Services) identifies “natural” helpers in the community and offers them the opportunity to learn more about mental health issues and training to strengthen their support skills.

It also aims to build a bridge between formal and informal support systems that exist in the community, to support these helpers in the work they do. The Community Helpers are identified through an anonymous survey, which will be conducted throughout the school year.

Be sure to participate!
